Hey lovelies! Here is a fun DIY Christmas ornament to try that is perfect for all your busy people who only have a few minutes to relax and do a festive craft. Grab some white ornaments, and a can of spray paint and make your own gradient black and white ornaments to trim your tree.
Take your plain white ornament and place it into the cap of the can of spray paint with the bottom side of the ornament facing upwards. Paint the ornament with a few light sprays of paint, I used Rust-oleum Specialty Lacquer Spray Paint for the glossy black finish, but any glossy finish so that the black paint would reflect the Christmas lights in the tree.
It is important to position the can of spray paint directly over the ball, so you spray in the middle to get an even paint finish around the side. Once the paint has dried you are ready to hang your ornament.
Here is the brand new ornament after being painted hung in the tree with a piece of black suede cord.
This DIY is a great way to give a new look to any of your old ornaments by spraying the bottom. Feel free to experiment with different paint colors for new looks, but this year I decided to add some black on my tree to shake things up as I’ve gone for more traditional colors in the past.
A huge thank you goes out to Rust-Oleum for providing me with the paint for this project, all content and opinions are that of my own. Thank you for supporting the sponsors that keep this site going! Read more about my editorial policies.
