Like many of you I’m trying to tackle getting all of my holiday shopping done early, but not matter how much I try to plan for everyone there always seems to be a moment over the holiday where I could use an extra present or two, such as a last-minute hostess gift. Normally my go to backup gift is a bottle of wine, as it is always a welcomed gift, but this year I decided to kick it up a notch by wrapping up each bottle in a luxurious DIY faux fur bag to make the gift look extra special.
DIY Faux Fur Wine Bag
To start you will need to cut a piece of faux fur fabric that is 13.5″ x 13.5″.
Next you will create the base of the bag by placing the bottle of wine on a piece of felt that matches the color of the faux fur. Using a pencil trace around the bottle making the traced circle slightly larger that the bottle (my circle is 2 cm wider than the bottle). Cut out the felt circle with scissors.
Using a needle and thread that matched the felt and fur sew one side of the square fur fabric around the felt circle. For those of you who aren’t the best at sewing, don’t worry as the fur does a great job at hiding the stitches at the bottom of the bag.
Next sew the side of the bag using the thread and needle leaving only of the top of the gift bag open so you can fit the bottle of wine inside.
After the bag is sewn, place the bottle into the bag and tie a small piece of ribbon around the bag to keep the bag shut.
GorgeousĀ isn’t it? Also, my apologies to whomever I give this bag that I wrecked the surprise of your gift, as yes there will be this bottle of one of my favorite white wines inside. Enjoy!
Omg, love this.
