Meet Mort, my glitter skull. Skip the more traditional Halloween decor this year and try a more sophisticated gothic look. Meet my glitter skull who I’ve named Mort, who I absolutely adore as he took about 5 minutes to make the sparkles looks outstanding when paired with all black decor and flickering candelabras. For all you Twilight haters out there, perhaps this is the remains what the remains of sparkly vampires look like.
- Plastic skull
- Spray glue, liquid glue or glitter glue
- Paint brush (if using liquid glue or glitter glue)
- Shallow container or tray
DIY Glitter Skull Instructions:
Grab a plastic skull and place it in a container or tray so you have an easy way to collect all the excess glitter. Next simply paint on liquid glue, in the case of Mort I used silver glitter glue and poured more silver glitter on top.
Once the skull has dried, collect all the glitter from the container or tray and pour back into your glitter container, or if needed onto the skull if there are any areas that require more glitter.
Here you can see the glitter skull fully covered in silver glitter.
Next to the silver glitter skull I have my first attempt, named Grim, where I used spray glue and black glitter. This method also works very well, but make sure to only use spray glue in a well-ventilated area.
