Easter feels so early this year with it being at the end of March, but thankfully the warmer days are quickly approaching and I’m eager to celebrate spring and all the fresh blossoms. To get ready for Easter this weekend I decided to update the bland basket I picked up with a coat of gold spray paint just like I did with my Halloween candy bucket so that I could have a chic way to package up Easter eggs.
DIY Gold Easter Basket
To start I picked up a regular Easter basket from the Dollar store, but you could use any old baskets you have in your home too.
Next, I used my favorite gold spray paint Rust-oleum metallic to give 2 coats to the interior and exterior of the basket. You will want to paint the basket in a well-ventilated room or outdoors and place a drop cloth under the basket to protect your floors.
When your basket is done you can go for a Midas theme and keep it all gold with gold grass and plastic gold Easter eggs, or you can add in your favorite colored Easter eggs.
Here is my completed basket, filled with assorted types of chocolates all ready to be given this Easter.
