To make the glitter macarons, you will need a batch of macarons, a food paint brush and some edible glitter.
Using a food paint brush, such as a small BBQ brush paint a small amount of water over the top of the macaron. You just need enough water to get the top damp.
Ta-da your new glitter macaron is done!
For my New Year’s Eve gift boxes, I went for a mix of champagne and chocolate macarons with gold glitter.
DIY Macaron Gift Boxes
To decorate the 2″x2″ gift boxes I had used a glue stick to glue on either the silver or gold “this will be the best year yet” detailing.
Print out the template in your choice of color, either gold and/or silver and apply glue to the back to stick the template on the box. After the labels have been stuck on using a glue stick add the macarons to your gift boxes and seal them shut by closing the lid.
This is what the box looks like when done. I designed it to have a bit of an Art Deco flair to the glam glitter label.
After a night of partying these sugar, treat boxes will be exactly what your friends need to keep dancing away all night. I couldn’t help to dive into one of the boxes a bit early, shh.. don’t tell.
