DIY Shamrock Glasses
- Gold removable vinyl (regular gold vinyl would work too)
- Pint glasses
- Silhouette machine (or exact-o knife)
- template for SVG for Silhouette (printable pdf template)
These DIY shamrock glasses are the perfect thing to serve up some Irish beer like Guinness or Kilkenny in this St. Patrick’s Day as the gold shamrock adds the luck of the Irish to the pint (typically found at the bottom of the pint).* Note, please drink responsibly.
To get started download the shamrock template, load gold removable vinyl into your Silhouette Cameo and send it to cut the vinyl. If you don’t have Silhouette machine you can print the file instead and use the design as a tracer to cut the shamrock by hand.
If you want to use the glasses year round you can use regular vinyl but I went for the slightly less sticky removable gold vinyl so that once St. Patrick’s Day was over I could peel off the shamrocks and have my glasses shamrock free for the rest of the year.
Position the vinyl shamrock slightly down from the top.
After the shamrock has been applied to the glass smooth out any air bubbles by pushing outwards on the vinyl. Above you can see the vinyl with slight air bubbles that needed to be smoothed out with light pressure.
When the vinyl shamrock has been smoothed your glasses are ready to use.
