Located in Wellington West, Holland’s Cake and Shake chef/owner is Michael Holland a pastry chef who has worked for some of Canada’s top chefs including Marc Lepine of Atelier in Ottawa. Known for his innovative flavour combinations of combing sweet and savoury, you can try some of his original flavour combinations in his cakes and shakes.

The shop specializes in individual layered cakes, shakes and soft serve ice cream. Each week the type of cakes offered changes so there are 5 new flavors which are listed on Holland’s Cake And Shake Facebook and Twitter account.
I love the mini cakes which are so cute, and perfect for birthdays as everyone can get their mini cake in their favorite flavor. Two of my favorite cakes I’ve tried was the strawberries and champagne cake (the name alone won me over), which is chocolate cake, with strawberry icing, champagne cream and topped with a chocolate dipped strawberry. My other top favorite was a cinnamon cake with cream cheese filling and small cinnamon sugar donut, but every cake thus far has been delicious!
If you are looking for a memorable dessert, try the overload! There is more than enough sugar packed in this dessert that you can easily share it, but let’s face it everyone is going to want their own as it just so outrageous that you have to order it!
