Toro Taqueria offers authentic Mexican style street tacos in Ottawa. The owner of the restaurant is originally from Honduras and uses family recipes to serve Latin-inspired flavors. At Toro Taqueria they specialize in homestyle slow braised meat, and vegetable tacos served on white corn tortillas.
Toro Taqueria is an Instagramable lunch spot with plenty of accent walls. The casual restaurant is open weekdays for lunch from 11 am to 3 pm. Even if you don’t work downtown, it is worth finding the time to visit this fabulous taco restaurant as the tacos are extraordinary. If you can, I would suggest visiting Tuesday for lunch to take advantage of their Taco Tuesday deal where tacos are $4.

On the menu, you’ll find plenty of delicious tacos to pick from with such as Campechano (topped with three types of meat and crunchy chicharrones) or Pollo Asado (roasted chicken with pico de gallo and toro sauce). All the tacos come with house-made pickled red onions, cilantro, and lime.
What I love about Toro Taqueria is all the meats were super tender and flavor packed! I also adored how there was house-made red and green salsas plus chimichurri along with a variety of other hot sauces too for people like myself who love their tacos extra spicy.
Two tacos cost $9.50 and will make for a hearty lunch for most people. If you are feeling especially hungry, you can order three tacos for $13.50 or enhance your meal with one of their desserts like the churro donut, Mayan hot chocolate cookie or Tres Leches cake. To drink they have a variety of beverages including fresh daily Aguas frescas, Jarritos Mexican soda, and coconut water.
One unique item on the menu is the taco box! For $45 you can get a box of 10 tacos with sides of lime and guacamole that is perfect for a group of 3 to 5 people!
